Here's an exchange at a jeeper site where the local 'authority' is exposed and hammered.  By following the leads of self confident but ignorant legal experts, the jeepers have been brutally clobbered of late, with both conservative and liberals united against them, if for different reasons.

What's scary is that Brad Ulricht (spelling?), who is LandUseOrc, is regularly printed as a sort of authority in landuse matters in various off road magazines, and his ill informed tirade on Barking Dog (http://www.off-road.com/land/four_corners/2002_12/) pretty much led them to the Little Big Horn.

And, given the clear recreational choices of the younger off roaders, and not a few of the oldsters, having a Probation Officer who poses as part of the Legal world, rather than the more prosaic and correct description of enforcement, reading the all too revealing threads might be a discouraging note.
