Does anyone know how much one would ask for for land compensation, regarding irrigation pipelines. You see I have these two quarters of land that an irrigation district wants to cross by burying the pipe down 6to 8 feet. They will put the topsoil back on and replant it . The land is prarie grass pasture. So any ideas would be great!

It sounds like you're out on the plains, and as a mountain-dweller I'm not too sure about irrigation pipelines. My guess from other experience is that they need to pay you fair market value and compensate for any damage, and I'd for sure make them buy a bond to cover it.

So what or how would you find out fair market value? The thing that bugs me is that they started planning and surveying in march and are just now asking if it is okay to do all this. I mean it is our property so shouldn't we have been involved from the beginning.
Oh and by a bond you mean a contract?
