Hi does anyone know anything about property lease rights? Does the person holding the lease have the right to say who entrs or is it the gov't choice?.

are you talking about a grazing lease? It is my understanding that if you are leasing from the feds you can't keep the public out, but you can sure keep them from bringing their destructive machines (ATVs, rockcrawlers and the like) onto your permit. The Colorado off-road clubs have a habit of creating new "roads" and then claiming they were there all the time and open for their recreational use as some kind of right of way. Good luck!

Yep it is a grazing lease, but good to know that I can at least keep the destructive ones off or at least try. Thanks.

Is it BLM or National Forest? I think the NF is easier to deal with, depending on the district ranger. You will probably have to physically block entry, but the offroad clubs will probably vandalize anything you try to do to keep them out. Persistence pays. Just keep fixing your blockades and eventually they will give up and go elswhere. They are jsut like terrorists who go for the soft targets.

I guess we don't have it that bad,it is just bacially annoying fisherman and the odd tourist. The lease is on one side of a lake and the other side there is a campground. But I wanted to know about them putting a pipeline across lease if I have any say. Or even if they put power across it.

The "they" would be the irrigation district that wants to put in the pipelines. The powerlines would be to power the engine or pump for the irrigation.

Wait, mylast post was wrong. I forgot you said it's a grazing lease. I don't think they have to pay you squat, because you are leasing the right to graze but you don't own it. I think the fishermen and annoying tourists have a right to be there too as long as they don't bother your livestock. But I could be wrong.

I guess for the lease they can pretty much do whatever they want as long as they keep the gates closed. And sort of keep me informed. Thanks I was just wondering where I kind of stood.
